•  Energy systems design and analysis, renewable energy technologies, distributed generation, cogeneration, systems integration and interoperability of subsystems and components

•  Economic analysis and life-cycle costing of energy systems and applications

•  Energy conservation and performance policy, regulations and standards

•  Sustainability and energy efficiency in the built environment

•  Building energy systems, including design, analysis and optimization of HVAC, daylighting, lighting and control systems, building automation systems

•  Air and water quality measurement, analysis, modeling and control

•  Measurements and modeling of sky and solar conditions, daylight utilization and fenestration performance, solar and thermal calorimetry, thermal, heat transfer, electrical and mass flow measurements

•  Measurement and evaluation of the performance of building control, mechanical, electrical, water and air distribution systems and thermal performance

•  Development of sampling, testing and rating procedures and standards for equipment and systems

•  Advanced control system communication protocols and interoperability

•  Building thermal loads calculations, and energy modeling and simulation

•  Building HVAC system commissioning and monitoring
